  • Tag the instagram post with #MadAboutTiongBahru and #MadAboutSingapore2024
  • The entries should be submitted on and between 29 July 2024 and 18 August 2024, Singapore time (UTC+8)

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
 
The following terms and conditions apply to Mad About Tiong Bahru (the “Contest”) photography contest organised by or on behalf of InstaSG (the “Organiser”) through the Instagram page of the Organiser (@instasg), in partnership with Tiong Bahru Plaza (the “Campaign Partner”) and supported by Nikon Singapore Pte Ltd (the “Programme Partner”) as the programmer partner and the prize sponsor.
 
These apply in addition and subject to any specific terms identified at any website or platform for the Contest and in the event of any conflict the terms posted at the website or platform shall prevail:
 
1. ELIGIBILITY

  • The contest is open to all Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents, as well as Foreign Residents in Singapore, aged 13 years and above, with a local residential address. You must submit the entry using your own registered Instagram account.
  • Participants below 18 years of age should obtain parental or legal guardian consent, and should be fully able and competent to enter into these Terms and Conditions, and agree to abide by and comply with the same.
  • The Organiser’s main committee members, and employees of the Campaign Partner, Programme Partner and judging panel involved in the organisation of the Contest and their immediate family members are not eligible to participate in the Contest.
  • Multiple entries are allowed per participant, and participants can tag any Instagram post with photo taken between 29 July 2024 and 18 August 2024 (inclusively) as an entry.
  • The images submitted must be taken with a camera. Composite images or images generated by Artificial Intelligence cannot be considered. Both generative fill and fully generated images will be prohibited. Because of the rapidly evolving perspectives, the eligibility criteria about the use of Artificial Intelligence may change at short notice and without notification.
  • No responsibility is accepted for any Contest entries that are incomplete, incoherent, unreadable, ineligible, corrupted, misdirected, lost or delayed or are unable to be sent/published due to technical or transmissions failures of any kind or any other reason.
  • Participation in the Contest constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions of the Contest. Prizes will be provided in accordance with and subject to these terms and conditions. Any entry not compliant with these terms and conditions will be deemed invalid. The Organiser reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions of the Contest at any time without prior notice.
  • Participants are required to ensure that his/her Instagram account settings allow for public view from 29 July 2024 until 31 August 2024. In the event the Organiser is unable to verify the entry due to the account’s privacy settings that render the content not publicly viewable, the entry will be considered invalid and voided.
  • It is a condition of entry that all participants consent to
  • The publication of their names and Instagram platform identifiers (in the format of username, profile picture and/or submitted photo) on the relevant media platforms for publicity purposes; and
  • Printing and public display of their entries in the print and/or digital publication, including for the purposes of publicity or promotion of the Contest or related to the theme of “Mad About Tiong Bahru” organised by the Organiser, Campaign Partner, or Programmer Partner.
  • Entries are deemed to be received at the time of receipt of the Contest entry by the Organiser’s Instagram account.
 
2. CONTEST MECHANICS

  • The theme is about celebrating Tiong Bahru as our cherished home. The Organiser and the Campaign Partner encourage participants to capture Tiong Bahru as a liveable and endearing home where we live, work, learn and play.
  • In order to be considered eligible, each participant must
    • Follow the Instagram pages of the Organiser (@instasg),  the Campaign Partner (@tiongbahruplazasg), and the Programme Partner (@nikonsg); and
    • Tag the instagram post with #MadAboutTiongBahru and #MadAboutSingapore2024
  • The entries should be submitted on and between 29 July 2024 and 18 August 2024, Singapore time (UTC+8).
  • Prizes:

3. WINNER AND PRIZES
  • The judging panel will decide on the winners based on the relevance to the theme, photography skill, creativity and editing skill.
  • Entries will be judged by the judging panel on their merits based on the fulfilment of criteria stated for the Contest.
  • The Organiser reserves the right to select Contest winners based on the eligibility criteria it has set out in the Contest post captions, as well as outlined in the Contest terms and conditions.
  • Prize winners will be notified via the mode of entry submission unless otherwise stated and may be required to receive and send private messages to the Organiser via the Instagram platform of the Contest they participated in to provide their personal details (name, email and contact number) for the purposes of identity verification for prize collection.
  • Should a winner be uncontactable or unable to reply within seven (7) days of being notified, the Organiser reserves the right to award the prize to a replacement winner, forfeit the prize, or donate the prize to charity.
  • In the event of a dispute, the winner’s entitlement is subject to the sole discretion and final decision of the Organiser. The Organiser’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entertained.
  • Items/Prizes must be taken as they are and are strictly not refundable or exchangeable for cash or extendable in validity. The Organiser reserves the right to replace items/ prizes with items of similar value.
  • Winners must present a government-issued photo ID and any relevant documents for verification when claiming the prize.
 
4. INDEMNITY
  • Each and every participant agrees to indemnify and keep indemnified and hold harmless the Organiser, Campaign Partner and Programme Partner from and against any and all claims, loss, damage, injury or disappointment or liability suffered and fees and costs incurred, by any participant as a result of entering the Contest or accepting the prize, including any injury or damage to the participant’s or any other person’s personal property including but not limited to a computer or mobile telephone relating to or resulting from participation in or downloading/uploading any materials in connection with the Contest.
  • Any cost associated with entering the Contest is the participant’s responsibility.
 
5. COPYRIGHT AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
  • Each participant warrants that his/her entry submission is the original work of the participant and, as such, the participant is the sole and exclusive owner and rights holder of the submitted work, and that the participant has the right to submit the work to the Contest and grant all required licences.
  • By participating in the Contest, each participant grants the Organiser, Campaign Partner, and Programme Partner an irrevocable, worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free right and licence to use, publish, reproduce or publicly display any entry submitted for the Contest in print, broadcast, digital and/or electronic media in the context of the Contest only without requiring the permission of the participant and without any fee payment. Where any of the entries are published or displayed by the Organiser, Campaign Partner and Programme Partner, the participant will be acknowledged and credited. Entries received through the Contest will not be used for commercial purposes.
  • Each participant agrees not to submit any entry that:
    • infringes any third party’s proprietary rights, intellectual property rights, industrial property rights, personal or moral rights or any other rights, including without limitation, copyright, trade mark, patent, trade secret, privacy, publicity, or confidentiality obligations;
    • contains material which is (or promotes activities which are) sexually explicit, obscene, pornographic, violent (e.g. relating to murder, the sales or use of weapons, cruelty, abuse), discriminatory (based on race, sex, religion, natural origin, physical disability, sexual orientation or age), illegal (e.g. underage drinking, substance abuse, computer hacking), offensive, threatening, profane, or harassing or which is otherwise inappropriate, in the sole discretion of the Organiser, nor may the participant’s name or Instagram account name contain any derogatory references to the Organiser or any other person or entity including brands or trademarks of the Organiser or any other person or entity; and otherwise violates any applicable laws and regulations.
 
6. AGREEMENT
  • The Organiser does not assume any liability for any unlawful or unlawfully produced content entry.
  • The Organiser reserves the right to remove, in its sole and absolute discretion, any submission deemed inappropriate or that is not in compliance with the terms and conditions of the Contest.
  • The Organiser reserves the right in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest.
  • The Contest is in no way endorsed, sponsored or administered by or associated with any social media platform.
  • Participation in the Contest will require the collection, use, processing, and disclosure of participants’s personal data. By participating in Contest, participants are deemed to have consented to the Organiser’s collection, use and disclosure of their personal data (to the Organiser, Campaign Partner, and Programme Partner for the purposes of conducting and administering the Contest.
  • By participating in the Contest, participants consent to the Organiser sharing participants data with the Campaign Partner, and Programme Partner for the following purposes:
  • Where necessary, for the Campaign Partner, and Programme Partner to directly contact participant relating to the use of the entries for purposes beyond the context of the Contest and
  • The use of participants’ names and/or Instagram identifiers for the purpose of identifying the participant as the author of his/her entries.
  • The Organiser, Campaign Partner, and Programme Partner reserve the right to engage authorised photographers and videographers to take photographs and/or video recordings during the events related to the Contest. By participating in the Contest, participants consent to being photographed and recorded by authorised photographers and videographers and consent to the use of such images, films, or recordings by Organiser, Campaign Partner and Programme Partner for creating marketing and publicity materials for public transmission.
  • Any provision in the terms and conditions which is held to be invalid or unenforceable for any reason by any court, governmental department, body or tribunal, or in any applicable jurisdiction shall be ineffective to the extent of such invalidity or unenforceability and will not invalidate or render unenforceable the remaining unaffected provisions hereof and should any provision be held invalid or unenforceable in an applicable jurisdiction such provision shall not be invalidated or rendered unenforceable in any other jurisdiction.
  • The Contest and its terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore and all registered users and the winners agree to irrevocably submit themselves to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts in the determination of any matter or dispute arising in connection therewith.
